  • The Opal mine is providing income and like all contraction in our economy life just gets harder for all, precious opal is a delight to see and share, competition is the invisible hand that guides the system we live and work under, ensuring a fair deal for all, I always have personally wanted to visit Mintabie and if the mine closes, I will be deprived of another item on my bucket list, The traditional owners need respect and assistance, how much greater the world would be if we, as a respectable association would offer the traditional owners a premium of all opal claimed in the field, payable as a duty on the value determined by a panel including a chorum of educated elders, this is a chance to help , instead of hinder the traditional owners
